Trip Overview

Druk Path Trek is one of the best short treks in Bhutan. Absolutely stunning offering the scenic views of the highland and mountain passes. Druk Path is an ancient trail that connects the Paro and Thimpu. The trek is unpredictably beautiful offering the glorious views of the Himalayas, valleys and the hills. The trek is camping trek thus; you will be waking up to the mesmerizing views of the white Himalayas and the smoky clouds covering the deep valleys. The trek is short and easy though you will be over the narrow ridges and cut off cliffs. The trail is full of rhododendron forest, alpine yak pastures and serene lake surrounded with High Mountains.

The trek begins after a day tour of UNESCO listed world heritage sites of Kathmandu Day. Following that, a scenic flight to Paro is next. The trail goes through the apple orchards, pine forest, old ruined fortress Jele Dzong escorting breathtaking view of Chomolhari which is also known as Chomolhari and is the second highest mountain in the world.

The trek consists of walking up the ridges and crossing several passes in which includes Phume La (4210m). Together with that, splendid views of Himalayas of Bhutan such as Jichu Drake and Gangkar Puensum are there to bless our eyes along the Tibet Border. Finally descending through the pine and juniper forest by way of Phadjoding monastery will take you to the capital city of Bhutan; Thimpu.
