Trip Overview

Manaslu Larke La Pass Trek is another popular trekking destination in the Manaslu region and a part of the great Himalayan trail. The Manaslu Larke La Pass trek is one of the most thrilling treks in Nepal. The highest point throughout the trek is Larke La Pass, at an elevation of 5420m. The Mansalu (8163m) mountain is the highest mountain in the Gorkha district and the eighth highest in the world. The trail to Manaslu offers beautiful scenery of mountains, forests, rivers, and charming villages with a variety of ethnic groups untouched by modernization. Thus, everything is intact in its actual form. Besides that, gorgeous glaciers, peaks, and ridges are other special features of this trek.

The trek starts from Arughat and ends at Besisahar, which is the starting point for the Annapurna Circuit Trek. The route is full of pine forest with a stunning mountain as a backdrop, which leads to the enchanting village of Samagoun. There is a beautiful monastery in Samagoun where nuns and monks reside. The next destination is Samdo, which is the highest village in the Budi Gandaki valley. The village offers a view of the valley and the Pang Phuchi village, with a view of the Tibetan border as a backdrop. The trail leads to other major valleys in Larke La. From there, you can view the panoramic scene of Himlung Himal, Kang Guru, Cheo Himal, and the occasional view of Annapurna massif. The trail further leads to Bhimtang, where you can see the Manaslu mountain.

The trekking in the Manaslu area is becoming popular nowadays. Before, it used to be a camping type of trek, but there are few teahouses with a very limited choice of food and accommodation. The trek is not very hard, but it would require physical strength. The Manaslu region is a remote area where the means of infrastructure have not been reached yet. This region is also a conservation area with a variety of flora and fauna and a unique culture.
