Shivapuri Day Hiking is a full-day hiking trip located near Kathmandu. Shivapuri National Park is a popular destination for short hiking trips among domestic hikers as well as foreigners. For domestic hikers, this is the perfect gateway due to its close location and to admire the vistas of the Himalayas in Nepal. The park offers a peaceful environment, lush forest, waterfalls, and the perfect view of Kathmandu Valley. The hike starts after a short drive to Budhanikantha Temple, which is one of the important pilgrimage sites for Nepalese. The park is a government-protected forest area.

On the trail, you will get to visit the Nagi Gumpa, the only monastery on the trail. The monastery is popular among foreigners for meditation. Once you reach the top of the peak at an altitude of 2732m, you will get a beautiful view of the Kathmandu valley and a picturesque view of the Langtang mountain range, Annapurna range, Gaurishankar, Ganesh Himal, and many more. Moreover, the forest shelters animals like deer and monkeys, along with some pheasants.
